My two young daughters think the Powerpuff Girls are “neat”. They like the big eyes, the tough grrl-power heroics, and Buttercup’s mischievious nature. They have also enjoyed the theme music (making them Bis fans, even if they didn’t know the band’s name). Being the ultra-cool kids that they are, I knew the girls would like the latest spinART release from Bis titled Plastique Nouveau. A follow up to last year’s Return to Central, the new EP consists of 9 tracks of synth-pop, euro-beat perfection, with remixes by US techno wizards Adult, Ectomorph and Tommie Sunshine. New wave is not dead and Bis bandmembers Sci-Fi Steven, Manda Rin and John Disco keep on proving it. Our “Nouveau” favorites are "Don't Let the Rain Come Down" and “Make It Through”, a couple of tunes that will get you up off the couch. It’s great music for dancing around the living room or singing with on your drive home from work or school.
